Frequently asked questions

Can I join files with different formats or sample rates?

Yes. You can mix MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, and AAC files. All clips are converted to the highest sample rate in the list before they are joined. Mono clips are copied to both channels when any clip is stereo.

How does the crossfade work?

The end of each clip fades out while the start of the next clip fades in, with an equal-power curve so the volume stays steady. Each crossfade is limited to half the length of the shorter neighbouring clip.

Are my files uploaded?

No. The audio is decoded and processed in your browser with the Web Audio API. Your files never leave your device.
